Before and After

Here are the Before and Afters for our house. I'm generally pleased with how it all turned out, although its not done yet. We're going to be painting either stripes or some time of mural sillouette in the girls room, and a broad stripe in Jeremiah's room. Anyway, tell me what you think?

The Project House

These are the three other projects that I've been working on the past 2-3 months. Leah's bed: a hand-me-down from Greg's brothers, their old bunk beds are now white, well, one of them is, I'll get to the other one in about two years when I need it. Currently, it's in the basement. I had to sneak in during nap time to take this picture. Obviously, we're still working on the concept of staying in bed. :) Most of the time she gets back in before falling asleep.

My dresser: another hand-me-down from a friend. It was a bit broken, my father in law fixed it a few years ago so it was functionable. And I painted it white.

My Desk (and pretty little blue chair):

Much better than this: (which we're trying to sell off right now)

The desk still has some work. It's Gregs job to convert the drawers into a cupboard for our CPU. Good idea eh? Anyway, he hasn't gotten to that yet, but I needed the desk out of my garage and I needed the computer off the flimsy card table which is where it has been for the past two and a half months.

So, there you have it. the projects done so far. Actually there are a few more little ones, a little stool painted and re-covered for the front entry, some frames painted, etc. Nothing big.
Next I'll show you the colors for the house.

More Photo Catch-Up

Ok, so there are a few reasons I've been so busy, the most recent has been THE COUCH. I am in the process of re-covering my 25 year old couches. Here is the process: Step 1: slice the seat cushions in half and cut new high-density foam to put in the middle. Step 2: Remove the attached back cushions Step 3: take out the heavy duty zippers from all the covers to re-use in the new covers.

Step 4: use spray adhiesive to put together the foam for the seat cusions and wrap them with new cotton batting. Step 5: make covers for the seat cushions out of cheap fabric to protect the batting when taking the real covers on and off when I wash them. Step 5: Do the same thing for the back cushions.... thats as far as i got before Leah played with my machine and messed up the tension on the bobbin casing. My mom helped me figure out what was wrong, and its now fixed, so I'll get back to sewing today or tomorrow. Nevermind the naked baby in the picture below.
The sisters are FINALLY playing with each other. Kind of:
Greg and Jeremiah have been working every Saturday to help my inlaws finish their backyard. Jeremiah thinks it's awesome.
This is Colette's funny little smile. It's always the squishy-faced smile. So funny.
Any guesses about what color her eyes are going to be?
And Leah.... ahhh.... Leah. Did I mention she's been climbing a lot? The other morning she was downstairs eating breakfast, I was upstairs feeding Colette. When I came down she was up on the table in a pile of coco-puffs dumped out all over the table having a blast. Yeah..... She's a hoot.

Catch-Up - Reunion

OK, so I'm playing catch-up. I've been really busy, if you can believe it. So I won't write much, because I started this post last night and then forgot about it after I put the kids to bed. at the end of July we went down to Southern Utah for a few family reunions. We painted shirts, the boys slept in a tent out in the yard (Jeremiah loved "camping") We went up to the mountains every day (lots and lots of dirt, sticks and rocks, and at one reunion the kids did pinatas, treasure hunting in paper shreddings, and they also had everyone hunt for change in a barrel full of saw dust. It's amazing what happens when you tell grown adults that there is $20 in a barrel they will do almost anything, and then they end up with about a dollar in change. :). Anyway, we had fun, LOTS of fun.
Leah's face reacts really bad to sunscreen. This day I just had to put it on her, and this was the result. I've since discovered that she can use my Bananna Boat Faces sunscreen and doesn't swell or turn bright red.
Oh, and it was Angela's birthday. It's she gorgeous!
